It’s such a shame that the Melia app/website is so poor. Really like their hotels, but the app is painful.
The Melia BF website doesn’t tell you when the applicable/qualifying dates are (or at least, I can’t readily see it), so it seems you have to search and search until the website throws something up.
On the home page, in the Black Friday banner at the top, click ‘learn more’.
On the next page click ‘see conditions’In addition to the list of participating properties it states:
“Booking period: 17/11/2023 – 26/11/2023
Stay period: 17/11/2023 – 20/12/2024*”The Melia BF website doesn’t tell you when the applicable/qualifying dates are (or at least, I can’t readily see it), so it seems you have to search and search until the website throws something up.

The Melia Black Friday offer really is great when combined with the 20% Gold discount. Unlike some other chains, the Black Friday deals also apply for flexible bookings. Got a really great deal at Red Level Tenerife, fully cancellable, for 50% less than the current price on Expedia.

I’m glad you feel you got a good deal, but from mine and others searching, it appears that the Black Friday deal prices there are the same as the non Black Friday prices earlier in the week. It’s almost always cheapest to book with Melia direct though, especially with the 20% code. I hope you booked through the app for the 5% app discount. Worth mentioning also that there is a Black Friday fully cancellable rate but this is more expensive, as opposed to the fully cancellable being standard for Black Friday prices/rates
Some of the tour companies like Intrepid travel (got an offer on my Amex too), have some fairly good offers for trips departing within 6 months

Finally spoke to someone knowledgeable in Melia Customer Services.
She explained the Black Friday deal ends on 30th April for urban hotels, but continues until year end for resort hotels.
She acknowledged this isn’t written anywhere on the website.I confirmed this by checking a date in April and a date in May against the same hotel, and she is correct.
So there we go.Not sure if this is Black Friday or not, but this deal at Malmaison is decent.. £100 with a £50 dinner/drink credit. Shame I don’t need to be in any of these cities any time soon.. https://www.malmaison.com/offers/room-offers/winter-flash-sale/
Costco, Samsonite Amplitude Large Hardside Case‘s for £85 inc delivery. Plus £10 off promo for online orders

Re IHG – there are three deals

Bonvoy have a save 20% at 6,500+ properties around the world this cyber week – I checked the places in Barbados I’d been looking at for January and the discounts look genuine (shame they only extend to the 15th as we’re travelling later in the month)…
Eurostar have tickets from £39, starting in January.

I cannot remember receiving that email from Bonvoy.
Upto what date does the discount cover?
I’m also staying in Barbados at a Marriott property, but in May.Not travel related, Bloomberg annual sub for £120.
AwardWallet down from $30 to $20 if you haven’t scored a code
Saw this text on the BA website when looking at BAH:
Offer 1: Black Friday Offer: £50 Saving incl. Book by 27 Nov
Offer 2: Black Friday Offer: £100 Saving incl. Book by 27 Nov
I don’t know what the threshold is as to which point the offer changes from the £50 to £100
Might as well add this car hire excess cover offer here too
Bettersafe I used a lot and also dealt personally with on upfront queries, based in Teddington, very nice people to deal with and responsive if needed.
Till 9th December Bettersafe is offering 20% off with BLACKFRIDAY23 . Annual coverage regular price goes geographically £38 or £46 for the year. Then a figure in between for worldwide i don’t bother with – For worldwide I take their £92 price as it gives the full works coverage worldwide including for USA :CDW and SLI. They do shorter per-trip coverages too. If I was buying a new policy now I’d go Bettersafe.
The 2 main ca$hback sites give good lists of providers and caskback can be OK tbough taking the usual ages to pay out.
Thanks for this, @LL, I’ve just got an annual policy for £37.59 with the discount!

Per @LL post, is that an annual policy ex CDW/SLI as she refers to a £92 price that includes those elements. What does an ex CDW/SLI policy cover?

I’m also staying in Barbados at a Marriott property, but in May.I received it as a push notification from the Bonvoy app – probably a good place to start. Otherwise log into the website and check the offers tabs – they don’t always email them
@JDB, all our bookings either have those or don’t need them – just need cover for standard excess, which is often upwards of £2000! Obviously everyone should gauge their individual needs and buy a policy accordingly.
Interestingly, our Avis booking in the USA last Christmas had fully inclusive cover and £0 excess as well as free extra driver (booked via BA), which was excellent value.

I was just interested because the price of the policy you mentioned was half that of the one @LL referenced as her choice so, as I understand it, the difference with the cheaper policy is that you aren’t covered for total loss of the vehicle through theft or damage and any third party liability or legal costs aren’t covered beyond those statutorily provided by the hire firm. There are probably some other differences as well. In the US and countries within the US orbit, those are really the big ones which is why the other policy is twice the price. As you say, everyone should gauge their individual needs, but I would feel rather naked with that sort of cover!
