Which Hilton’s have you stayed in that offer great points value? We stayed at the Conrad BKK which was pretty good. Which others can folks recommend?

Surely it depends on when you book and for what dates as much as anything else…?

I booked Conrad in Singapore for 3 nights this July, back in February for 60k ppn, which I was very plsd with especially as cash prices were c ££450/night. If I book the same hotel now for next month I’m looking at 264kppn. The hotel/room is the same

That is definitely depending on the time you are booking.

Exactly. Depends on cash prices that night – and they’re not even that relevant if you never would have paid the cash price. The rough Hilton Honors points valuation is 0.33p per point; do better than that and you’re doing just fine. I’m sitting in a Hilton right now where we got just under 1p/point – pretty good! My record is over 1.5p/point. There will be plenty of people here who got waaaay higher than that, particularly in situations where hotels were slow to close redemptions (trackside hotels at Grand Prix weekends, Central Cardiff in the 6 Nations, stuff like that).

When it was the queens funeral I booked some free cancellation hotels and I ended up booking the Trafalgar St James on points. If my memory serves me correctly, it was 70,000 or 80,000 points per night (but please don’t quote me).

When I went to look at cash prices, it was 2 grand for 2 nights. I was quite chuffed with myself at the time, granted, it did go down, but still no where near to price of points I reserved the room for.
