Does anyone have any ideas for using 1 all brands BMG certificate in the UK or close enough? Seen the Waldorf Amsterdam which sells for over 1200EUR a night, that seems like a quick flight from LCY for a weekend stay. Something like that might be nice to use the certificate. Thank you always in advance.
(This is a Be My Guest certificate, usually given by Hilton for serious service failures. Good for a free night anywhere in a standard room, no restrictions. You just pull it out on departure and the bill is sent to Hilton. I was told what the internal Hilton charge is for these – ie what comes off your budget if you donate one for a raffle or charity auction – and it is HUGE.)
Yes, Waldorf Amsterdam isn’t a bad choice. You could look at Waldorf Rome for cost, perhaps one of LXR hotels, but Waldorf Amsterdam is well regarded, easy to reach and VERY hard to get as a standard redemption.
Yes I should have mentioned what a BMG is! Thank you. If a redemption isn’t available I’m not sure if a room can be booked either as you need the standard room for it and I had assumed that if a standard room is available then a redemption is but I will reach out to them to check which room category has to be booked for the BMG. Will also look at LXRs.
Interesting re the charge. I was told randomly that the hotel from which the service issue originates picks up the bill for it but no idea if that is correct.Hilton isn’t Hyatt. There can be standard rooms for sale but no rewards.
Very likely that Hilton recharges the original hotel, yes. I only know what Hilton pays internally if they are given out as perks.
