Got an overnight stopover coming up in Madrid, and wanting somewhere to stay the night near to the airport. Not bothered about going into the city as don’t have much time, and also want a room with separate area for little’un. We previously stayed at a HI which was about 20mins away, but looking at closer ones, seems like there’s a crown plaza, hilton and marriott.
Any recommendations between these or others?
Also interested in people’s suggestions here. I’m IHG Spire (or whatever it will be) and Hilton Diamond if that makes a difference. TIA
There are some Accor Hotels near Feria de Madrid metro station which is good for T4/T4S.
Hilton at the airport was pretty good as long as you’re in tower 1. Tower 2 was a pain. There was a shuttle pre-covid, not sure what it’s like now. And if you dont want to eat at the hotel there’s a big shopping centre with a variety of restaurants 5 mins away by cab or a 20 min walk through a housing estate and across a footbridge.

@davefl I only see North and South towers when reserving room, which is the one you say to avoid, and why?
We will just be taxi-ing to and from airport, no time to eat out.
If you zoom on satellite view you can see the main entrance and tesla charger marked and the tennis courts next door. I would assume that’s the south tower, but not 100%. Anyway that’s the one you want, everything is in that one.

Yep that comes up as South on hilton app. Thanks !
Just FYI. A taxi from the airport to anywhere central is a fixed fee of €30 (including all extras). Taxi drivers may be a little pissed if you just ask them to take you next door (I would recommend to use Cabify or Uber then).
Given the size of the city (I am from there) a ride to the centre is 20-30min no more.
If you are going to land very late and leave very early (no need for dinner/breakfast) you can extend your search radius a little and just pick something on your budget range (with Cabify consider the ride will be £20 each way).
Yeah there is no real need to stay at an “airport” hotel – I only chose the airport Hilton several times because I needed some nights for status. If you are able to take public transport you might as well choose a hotel near a station rather than faffing with shuttles, and if you’ll take a taxi then choose one near to a motorway junction or something like that.
