Just for curiosity does anyone know how Hilton calculate base points when the hotel bill has been paid for in GBP via cash or credit card ?
The only conversation rate I can see is 10 points/ USD
It always seems to be a little bit more than 10 points/£ but nothing obvious
10 points per $1 net spend.
A £100 uk hotel bill is £83.33. At $1.20 to the £, that’s $100.
So roughly 10 points per £1 charged.
I believe Hilton determine their own exchange rate.
I had this issue recently. Base points posted lower than I expected. I contacted Hilton and they upgraded the points. Think it was just a rubbish exchange rate used. It was only one night but due to lots of promotions I got an extra 5k points. On a more expensive/longer stay it would have been wayyy more points….
