Barclays Premier Banking Avois Rewards program – salary checked?

A stupid question it maybe … I believe you have to earn 70k plus to be Eligable to apply (or have other wealth) and complete the switch. I didn’t think credit checks can check wealth so could you actually get the account on a lower salary , if so will you get the monthly avios once enrolled and also the welcome bonus ? Or will Barclays downgrade your account pretty promptly when they see your monthly salary is lower

Depends on how close you are to the threshold, unless it’s miles away then wouldn’t be an issue…and yes you are correct, they can’t check wealth externally but in this case you need to transfer that wealth to within Barclays to qualify

My salary meets the threshold for Barclays Premier but is paid in 13 annual payments rather than 12, which superficially makes my salary look lower than required. Barclays have never asked me for any details for verification….
