I’ve just opened the premier account today via the app. Am I correct to say that if I sign up for the avios rewards program and then do a full switch from my current bank (Halifax) within 3 months I’ll get the 25k bonus ? Or do I do the switch first and then sign up for the avios program ?
I used the chat facility they asked me to call barclaycard… clearly they were confused as it’s not a barclaycard query … don’t hold much hope lol
Avios rewards first as per the below:
To qualify for the 25,000 Avios joining bonus, you’ll need to join Barclays Avios Rewards – within 4 months of opening your first Barclays current account. Then, you’ll need to complete a full switch of your old current account to us, using the Current Account Switch Service – within 3 months of joining Barclays Avios Rewards. You will then receive your joining bonus in the fourth month of Barclays Avios Rewards membership

Yes, that’s the sort of customer service you should get used to.
Honestly, I don’t see why you should switch your main current account (unless you are really annoyed with current bank). Just open up a free Monzo or Starling account and switch that one. For the sake of 25k avios it is a bit of hassle and in my opinion not worth going to Barclays for anything other than the avios.
I should also say that Monzo and Starling offer superb current accounts which laugh in the face of Barclays, Lloyds, HSBC and any of the other big high street banks.

You can do it either way round, so long as both things occur within the timeframes quoted.
I have been approved for the avios credit card. Can I still get the bonus on premier account?
Tried to complete the current account switch using the Current Account Switch Service only to have it fail and say that Chase Bank do not support this capability and that I need to complete the process manually, i.e. download forms and post them to Barclays. I have done this but I have no idea if they will be actioned or whether doing this switch manually will invalidate the 25000 Avios joining bonus. If it does invalidate the bonus then that will be 50,000 points I’ve lost as my wife has same issue. Every day their seems to be a new problem with Barclays Premier account and Barclaycard Avios Plus credit cards. Shambolic.

Chase Bank are not a member of the current account switching service. Barclays/BCard are at fault with many things (incl. including a leaflet on how to use Apple Pay with a card that doesn’t support Apple Pay in the first place) but to be fair with them this is nothing of their fault but rather an issue of PEBCAK.

I appreciate that the fault may sit with Chase Bank, but I am still doing the account switch via Barclays own paper based equivalent. I even went into the bank to do this and they scanned the documents and emailed them while I was there. So I have used Barclays current account switching service, but not the “online” version. And my concern is that they state it must be the online version to qualify for the 25000 Avios joining reward.
And there was no way that I could know that Chase Bank doesn’t support the current account switching service until I had already signed up for the Premier Account and tried to do the switch via the Barclays app, at which point it says the switch has to be completed manually via the paper-based method.

Chase is not currently part of the Current Account Switching Service (CASS), but we can offer a manual switch process

The Current Account Switch Service is a free service that lets you switch a current account from one participating bank or building society
Looks pretty clear to me. The manual process is not CASS and you didn’t do your research. Not Barclays fault (or poor Chase for that matter – what did they do wrong?)
How many people who signed up for the new Barclays Premier account do you think “did their research’ as you so politely put it.
And where is the caveat in the T&Cs that states, please be aware that your existing bank may not support CASS.Tried to complete the current account switch using the Current Account Switch Service only to have it fail and say that Chase Bank do not support this capability and that I need to complete the process manually, i.e. download forms and post them to Barclays. To be fair to Barclays, Chase not yet supporting The Current Account Switch Service is hardly their fault. Chase mention they do not support the aforementioned service here.
It does sound as though you’ve found the Barclays Paper-Based Switching Service Form and I do hope you and the wife get your introductory Avios.

Barclays telling potential customers which banks are a part of CASS are hardly a part of their job but they do link customers to the relevant site.

Sorry for the duplicate. It will not let me remove either.
The T&Cs indicate the steps above (sign up for Barclays Avios Rewards, switch account) but also you must maintain eligibility for Barlcays Premier, which involves paying your salary into the account.
So to be clear, do you need to switch the account that your salary is currently paid into? Or can you switch a different account, and then give your employer the Barclays account number to pay into?
The wording re eligibility is also rather ambiguous, as it says you need “an annual gross income of £75,000 or more paid into a Barclays current account.” Sorry to be pedantic, but unless you are self-employed you are not going to have your gross income paid into the account, due to PAYE. So do they intend to tell all salaried account holders that because only their net income, not gross, is paid in, they are not eligible? (Calculating gross to net will of course depend on pension contributions etc too).
See this. They want £3,330 in a month or £40,000 over a year:

I have spoken to Barclay Premier team this morning and they have said that I “should” still be eligible for the 25000 Avios joining bonus, although until the paper-based account switch goes through they can’t confirm. The paper-based account switch can take at least 12x days, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to check on progress. So in limbo for time being.
