We’re going to Barbados (sing-along everyone!😎) and I remember a post a while back (Xmas?)recommending using the airport fast track security option to avoid queues etc. Has anyone had a more recent experience of using this service or just how bad BGI can be when it’s busy please?
Also connected to this is whether to use the Barbados’ government’s BIMsafe app or not? I presume that it enables track & trace so signing up could then run the risk of being ‘pinged’ but I don’t know how not having it will impact the airport arrival process… again, any helpful advice based on recent experience would be gratefully received !
The value of fast track seems to be luck of the draw, because if you land 20 minutes after another long-haul flight has just disgorged 300 people then you’re in a mess given how slow they work. If no aircraft has landed for a while and you’re in Business then you’ll be out quickly anyway.
Note that some of the posher hotels include this service anyway – if not for everyone, then for people who book a transfer via the hotel.
Used the fast track the last two times and been money well spent on each occasion. Booked it on viator via that we’ll known t0p c@sh b@ck site for 10% or so off the top. As rob says its insurance against a busy arrival terminal. My last one was a zoo in January.
The BIMsafe thing is rubbish bit I would do it anyways (as I did) but you probably won’t get asked for it (as I did not)..
