Just a quick update following some earlier news on the New BA business class roll out, Will be travelling outbound on BA227 to Atlanta on 24 March and back 3 April in business BA 226 – Just to alert this is showing old business class configuration So BA not got to this 777 service yet to update to New Business – despite hefty prices….. luckily its a avios point redemption…. Rather than the £ 6,000 plus for the flight on the BA site ! You cannot check I believe the seat configuration which alerts old or new Business until you have booked (I may be wrong on this and it may be if you use Seat Guru and put in the class of travel and Specific date – it may show you the seat config ) Hope it helps a little eg be aware you may pay over £5k to go to USA with BA on a 777 and still get the old Business at this time given the slow roll out.
You can check the seatmap during booking on BA to see which club cabin it is scheduled to be with (when you go choose the seats). Alternatively by flight number using ExpertFlyer. Obviously nothing is guaranteed as BA can switch equipment at any time.
Checking your flight number on flightradar24 shows the route is operated by planes with registration G-VIIV and G-VIIY. There are online threads tracking status of the club suite rollout, so you could cross check the registration what to expect. These are ex-LGW planes, so I suppose they’re lower on the list anyway.
You can see seat map during booking process for a cash ticket as you are given option to select seats before making payment.
Personally if I’m flying with a companion I’d be very relaxed about “old” CW vs CS & for a night flight I actually prefer the old seat as the window seats are incredibly private (I don’t have an issue stepping over someone to get out) & there’s no cubby hole for feet. I agree the aisle seats are poor as are the middle “double beds” for solo flyers.
Just to say completely ignore Seat Guru – it hasn’t been updated for years. As Thegasman says, if you don’t have expertflyer then best way to check is via a new cash booking on ba.com
Price will in no way relate to the aircraft used.
Seatguru is clickbait, use aerolopa.
Aircraft can and will change, so don’t get locked into the idea you’ll get CW or CS, although the flight history can be quite telling on some routes.
Yes 6K sterling on my dates of travel out 24th March back 3rd April in Club – Thanks for the comments Appreciated especially the point on Seat Guru !
