BA Silver: Extra baggage on oneworld Airlines?

Second try at going to Jordan after the first one got Covided.

Looking at flights with Royal Jordanian. They have some good open jaw flights into Amman and back from Aqaba. However, they say “hand baggage only”

Mrs Fandango and I are both BA Silver. Would this get us hold bags for free? What about our 2 kids (on the same booking, but only Bronze)?

Unfortunately no on the Royal Jordanian’s super saver fare. Even their own elites don’t get the allowance. On Flyertalk someone checked directly with RJ and got it confirmed. Similar to BA’s basic fare I suppose.

No it wouldn’t. You only get the 2×32 kg hold bags if you book the ‘checked baggage’ option (i.e. where they allow you 1×23 kg bag).

Hand luggage only bookings remain even with Silver.

Thanks both. That’s annoying because it’s not what the oneworld status site says – it specifically rules out BA HBO fares but no other airline mentioned.

Now, can we manage on 7kg each for 2 weeks 😀
