BA Premium Plus referral then cancel other card?

Hi I used to have Amex cashback card, looking at getting referred by my wife who has the Gold card (on 2nd year) of which I am a supplementary card holder. If she refers me she will qualify for 6000 bonus she was told will take 10 weeks to credit.

If I was to get accepted for BA Premium Plus can I request supplementary card for her, then cancel the Gold card?
currently the referral link is offering me 42k Avios
