Hello fellow HFP’ers!
I am doing a mini tier point run this week. DUB-LCY return. 80 TPs for Club Europe.
BA4467 dep 15:55 arr 17:30 into LCY.
BA4470 dep 20:30 arr 21:50 into DUB.
There is a slightly earlier return flight, BA 4468 dep 18:05 arr 19:30.
If I arrive a bit earlier into LCY, what are the chances of being able to get on this earlier flight? Especially as it seems the aircraft I arrive on may be the same aircraft doing this 18:05 departure? I know I won’t be able to stay on the aircraft, but is it feasable to walk into arrivals at LCY and ask BA agents to kindly transfer me onto BA4468? Should I check in or not? I know for LCY flights you need to have checked in just 20 mins before departure.
Thanks for advice.
K
Yes, it should be possible in theory and you should have enough time, most of the time. Don’t check in for the later flight.
However it may turn out that the staff either don’t know how or don’t want to do it.
If the 1805 flight is still available for booking, you can try changing it yourself on the BA app as soon as you see the stairs being moved towards the plane doors.
So, arrived at 17:19. Unfortunately we were made to board a bus to bring us 40 feet along the apron. Unfortunately this meant that by the time I got to the BA ticket desk there was only 29 minutes until the aircraft departed and the BA agent was unable to move me onto the 18:05 flight.
I’m now sitting in LCY very very bored.
