Apologies if this has been asked but I cant find any information on the checked baggage situation at Heathrow. An HFP post suggested that Heathrow management were also considering asking airlines to prioritise/ask-airlines-to-limit travellers without checked baggage. There has been nothing in the mainstream media about checked baggage issues.
This Sunday 7.30 am, I travel for 2 weeks – a family of 4 ppl making do with cabin bags is not that appealing considering my destination.
Has anyone have an experience report they would like to share. Has it been plain sailing or a mare?
Take the luggage if you need it but spread clothes etc across all the bags so each contains at least some of the others clothes just in case anything does happen to any of your bags
I’m due to travel to the US on Monday with AA and I’ll be taking checked bags.
but spread clothes etc across all the bags
This is good advice, thank you.
And take a reasonable amount of what you need carry on, no matter what!
Oh and get Apple air tags.
They provide a wee bit of peace of mind.
I’m pondering the same issue. Due to fly mid month LHR – JFK and shortly onwards to Florida. As I have to pay $120 for checked baggage on my delta flight JFK-MCO I was contemplating just sending a suitcase ahead to the hotel and the rest in cabin bags. Slightly more expensive but saves the hassle.
