Forums Other Flight changes and cancellations help BA Gatwick to Dubrovnik – withdrawn

Route appears to have been withdrawn from Nov’23 , I’ve already been ticketed.
Is it likely to be a battle to be rerouted by BA with Croatia Airlines or another Star Alliance member?

I would wait until BA has formally notified you of the cancellation and to give them time to see if they put in place alternative arrangements first before along for other reroute options.

I’m surprised BA bothers with DBV in November. Can’t be a big earner, especially from LGW.
I think DBV is losing its charm, LO normally runs DBV until the end of October but it stopped in September last year.

The weather was lovely last November but we came back via Zagreb, I was surprised to see a direct route from Gatwick.
I don’t expect BA to reroute me willingly.

The thing is, DBV is a great gateway to Montenegro and Bosnia, which has amazing nature to explore – not just beaches. OH and I went to Montenegro in October 2022, and prices via DBV were crazy so we ended up having to slum it on a half empty Wizz air flight to Podgorica. The country was teaming with tourists from Germany, Austria and Czech who clearly appreciate it in the quieter season. The weather was also awesome.

No doubt, some of these countries might well subsidise (or have historically subsidised) some of these routes in the quieter months.

BA does have a relationship with Croatia Airlines so a reroute via Zagreb from Heathrow should be possible. But usually you have to wait a while after the cancellation for the rerouting policy to be published

On such a short flight you might want to just take the refund and rebook if there is an Easyjet etc direct option still
