Double TP just credited 9 days after the return as well.
We missed our connecting flight to OTP this evening due to a delayed earlier flight. This was a double TP 5 night booking with car hire.
Are we likely to lose the double TP now as we will only get the car hire 4 nights?
Also our next flight tomorrow is 10 am and we have been advised to be at terminal 3 at least 3 hours beforehand, this seems extreme as we have no checked luggage. Any advice on either issue would be much appreciated
TIA
Quick question for clarification.
I’ve booked a trip to Bangkok & Phuket. My wife didn’t like the hotels on offer in Bangkok so we booked that separately. We have, however, booked 9 nights hotel in Phuket.
Reading the T&Cs I thought this would qualify for the double points but a lot of posts on here say it doesn’t.
Can someone confirm?
Thanks
It should based on the T&Cs now it should. They had previously said had to be the whole trip in an older version of this deal.
Just to confirm that I did indeed get my Double Points for this trip. It took about 10 days to post the extra points. The first leg of the journey moved us in to Silver and the posting of the double points bumped us into Gold.
Happy with thatHelp please
Madrid Seattle is about £1.500 cheaper than NCL Seattle in first class. All flights operated by BA but no reference to the double tier points when I choose the hotel. WIll they still apply?
If so no brainer plus pick up points on the Madrid leg. Also presumably once I’ve sorted the booking I can phone BA and ask to miss the final leg and jump off at LHR
Thanks in advance
@richard Double tier points are only offered for UK departures.
Don’t ever phone BA about missing the last leg. They will say “ok” and then proceed to calculate the new fare.
If you want to get off at LHR then schedule the final LHR- MAD flight to the next day so you get your bags.
If I added a hotel booking to a flight only does that convert that booking to a “BA Holiday” ?
If I added a hotel booking to a flight only does that convert that booking to a “BA Holiday” ?
No….has to be booked in one transaction unfortunately….

ugh annoying !! ok thank you !!!
Hey guys
Can someone help with this query. I am looking to travel to the US in December 2023 but returning in January 2024. I’ve checked out the T&C’s on the website but its not clear to me whether the double tier points would apply to the return part.
Also I live in Jersey. Jersey is listed under BA as United Kingdom but I can’t seem to book a holiday starting from Jersey. Does this mean that this element would have to be booked separately – I hope not as we don’t usually pay more for adding that leg and sometimes its a cheaper flight than booking from Heathrow.
ThanksYou can book a holiday online starting from Jersey , annoyingly the Holiday Finder front page defaults to London, but you can override this and put Jersey once you get the menu bar at the top of the page. Alternatively, from the BA.com landing page select Book – Flight+Hotel and it presents a BA Holidays page where it will let you enter Jersey as the start point.
I’m not sure what happens with double TPS if your trip spans year end 2023. My understanding is that qualifying travel needs to be completed by 31 December 2023.
Don’t ever use the “holiday finder” it’s absolute rubbish.
Use the flight + Hotel or flight + car options as appropriate on the main BA landing page.
Latest qualifying trip posting dates –
28th Dec – LCY – BER – posted 31st Dec.
3rd Jan – BER – LCY – posted 6th January.
9th Jan – BA Hols bonus avios posted.
12th Jan – Double TP for entire trip posted.
Anyone got any recent experience of how long it takes BA to credit missing tier points when they mess up? My holiday which ended 11 Sept had only half the points post. BA not answering emails, wondering how long they are taking these days to fix issues with automatic posting.
Do you mean only half the points because you have not received the ‘double’ points or are they half the normal TP? If its the first one then they have 30 days I believe to add them
Sorry I meant half of the bonus points (80 of 160). The normal 160 tier points (return to Catania in club Europe) posted fine. It has been 42 days and the bonus points for a later trip have now posted.
Anyway, anyone with any recent issues like this have examples of how long it has taken BA to resolve?
Did you get this sorted? I have the exact same situation.
I flew LHR-IST on 21-Dec and the regular tier points posted on 23-Dec. I returned IST-LHR on 01-Jan and the regular tier points posted on 04-Jan.
80 bonus tier points, rather than the expected 160, also posted on 04-Jan.
Yesterday was 14 days since my return, which is the new SLA for the bonus points to post, so I have emailed exec-club.socialmedia@ba.com today.
Hi all.
Does anyone happen to know if the double tier point promo applies to the ticket class booked or travelled? If I book a 5 night trip in T or I, and upgrade one cabin (paid) at the airport, assuming available as an AUP, what would post, 360 t, to equiv J 560, or 560 for I going upto 840 if travel in F?
Hope what I’m asking is clear, but can’t seem to see an answer to this anywhere
Cheers

Don’t know for certain but I suspect the double TP applies to booked travel class, but you will get the extra TP of the upgraded cabin travlled as normal. Just don’t expect to get those extra TP’s doubled too.

Received an email reply from Exec Club today and the missing tier points posted to my account. One week for a response.
If I book a flight and car hire BA holiday for a 2 week trip with car hire for the first 5 days only, are the double tier points posting in a timely manner?
The double points appear to be posting approx a week after the return flight has taken place.
Reports on the BAH double tier points thread on FT are suggesting BA seem to have recently added the word ‘consecutive’ to point 1 c in their double tier points terms and conditions, in relation to what makes for an eligible hotel/car hire component – so 5 consecutive days.

But it doesn’t need to be for the entire BA Holiday and if so can be any 5 consecutive days between the flights?
Do these sales affect reward flight availability at all? Looking for any seats LGW-Cagliari in May but minimal availability – do revenue hold back availability or is it more likely I’m just too late as only two flights per week?
Has anyone had any luck keeping their status if the bonus tier points get added on after the collection year ends? Took a BA Holiday in Jun 22 which gave me 320 tier points in total, more than enough to retain silver at the then reduced threshold of 300 points. My membership year ends in July, the bonus tier points were added in August, two months later. I was bumped down to Bronze and have been trying to sort this out ever since. It is almost impossible to get through to anyone on the Bronze line, whenever I did they agreed I should be silver and said it should be sorted in 24 hours, it never was. I gave up and sent a complaint to the Exec club via the customer relations poral online. They clearly didn’t read what I wrote and just said I only had 160 tier points and they couldn’t help me. The response also gave no way to reply.

This is really frustrating to read, as I will be in a similar situation later this year due to take flights end of September, collection year ending October but the Bonus TP will no doubt post into the new year when I would rather in the current year. Simple adjustment should be simple for them to do. I don’t know what to suggest but keep bombarding them with emails. Social media can help too, Twitter/Facebook? they don’t like bad publicity even if a niche issue?

The wording has now reverted back, and the word ‘consecutive’ no longer appears. FT reports that BA have acknowledged that the wording was changed as a result of human error, and was not intended to alter the validity rules.
