You need to call BAEC not the main BA flights or BA holidays lines

BTW a qualifying trip is 5 nights not 5 days.

    Thanks. Meant 5 nights.

If I book via BAH, flights from UK, which are 3 nights and Car Hire for 5 nights in 1 booking. Does, this meet the conditions for Double Tier Points?
Can you also do 3 nights for Hotel and 2 nights Car Hire.

..Can you also do 3 nights for Hotel and 2 nights Car Hire.

I think that may be too difficult for the BA IT.

You need the flight to be for the full duration, and my suspicion is that it’s the flight that clinches it. This is because last summer I was very pleasantly surprised to get 560 TPs for a CW Caribbean flight plus one night in a hotel. Of course they may have fixed that now and it’s probably not worth risking it if you need the TPs to qualify for status!

    Thank you both!
Will see what i can find from JER to the West Coast of U.S.

BA Holidays with BA codeshare on Qatar..? Doable?

Hoping to max out BAH double points with something like LHR-(DOH)-HKT, SIN-(DOH)-LHR using Qatar-operated flights on BA codeshares. But it seems not doable. Plus flight costs v high. Searching on BA.com it seems like I chasing a pipe dream.

Anyone had any success with something like this? 1,120 tier points in J would be v nice from one return trip. Thanks

@jonnyfly perhaps change the depature to LON on ba.com to include LGW flights, may show up some cheaper flights.

This does work as long as you book all flights with BA flight numbers. Did LHR-DOH-HKT last September and double TPs posted as expected.

Have been looking to do another similar route to maintain Gold, but flights this year are double (albeit previous one booked during Covid lockdown).

    Good luck with the searching!

Are you using the BA Hols search function or the flight only?

Flight availability / routing vary between flight only and BA holidays so make sure you’re searching via BA Hols and not flight only.

Then use the “custom” trip option to do the open jaw.

And don’t forget QR fly ex MAN and EDI for additional ex-UK options in addition to LHR/LGW.

Thanks. Yes already searching LON not LHR. And using “custom trip”. Seems anecdotally that this was viable last year. But maybe not cost-affective in 2023… I’ll keep searching…

Keep getting “Error Obtaining Price Quote” since yesterday when trying to book custom trip for a LGW outward and LHR inward option – It seems to price lower when doing custom trip on screen but does not go to next page. Tried multiple times and multiple browsers but no luck.
Anyone had any luck trying to ticket this ? Price is almost half(800+ versus 1600+) for a package I am trying.
Tried contact center for luck they can match the online price but no chance there as well.

Hello looking for advice. Booked Ba trip for business, flights from Bermuda to London, with a 2 day stop over in London then onto Tel Aviv with 5 night hotel accommodation there. I understand that my travel needs to have originated from London and my question is as I had a stop over in London does anyone know if I will qualify for double tier points? I am just try to secure the renewal of my gold status for next year. Thanks so much for an insight you have.

As your trip originates outside the UK and ends outside the UK, you are not eligible to receive double tier points.

Hi – just booked – via BAH Flight/Hotel/Custom Trip
    LHR-MEL
MEL – SIN – plus 5 nights hotel
    SIN – LHR
Total duration is 34 days but only 5 nights hotel via BA.

All booked OK via BA Holidays website – extra Avios and Deposit only payment but no mention of double tier points – which would make me and my other half Gold

Am I correct in thinking this trip qualifies or have I missed something . I tried to get an answer from BA Holidays but they couldn’t answer the question – unbelievably- all advice gratefully accepted
    Thanks

Are the flights all BA codeshares? Only BAXXXX flights get the double points. The website doesn’t always show the double TP banner.

Your holiday is to Singapore, so the flights to and from Singapore may only be awarded double TPs.

Do the MEL-SIN flights have a BA flight number?

    2 posts

Yes – All flights are BA coded – booked through BA Holidays – I guess if BA are being pedantic they will say that the “Holiday” bit in SIN actuall starts from Melbourne – but I’m hoping not as I booked a custom trip so I can’t see why it won’t count – unless they have changed the rules to say Flights/Accommadation or Car Hire must be for the entire trip but I haven’t seen that anywhere and the BA reps seem unable to confirm one or the other

Long shot question – If I fly on Saturday for 4 nights with hotel in booking, but in the booking I also include a night at heathrow the night before departure, does that count for the 5 days in the booking?

Looking at booking a 2 week trip to SOF. Will I qualify for double TP’s if I book a car for only the first 5 nights of the trip, and will these automatically post?

    Anyone?

Yes. Assuming you book flights and car at the same time and trip is before end of 2023.

    Hi,

Any recent data points on how long it is taking for BA to post the double Tier Points? It has been a week since my trip ended and I’ve already had the avios + Tier Points posted, but not the additional TP.

What’s the best way to contact BA to chase this?

    Thanks.

How many days since your TPs were posted?

Last month, my double TPS posted 9 days after the return flight date, BA website says they will post within 14 days of your return flight. Suggest you give them that time before chasing up via the Exec Club.
