Hi,
My OH has a Companion voucher which he gained through the BA Blue basic CC so economy only. I already have the BA PP card so have a companion voucher for Business class with that. I would like to book 2 LHR-MAD flights using the voucher but am unsure what tier would be best value.
The cash price of 2 flights are: £311.98
• 22000 Avios + £ 9.00 = so would be £229
• 19500 Avios + £ 20.00 = so would be £215
• 14500 Avios + £ 35.00 = so would be £180
• 9300 Avios + £ 70.00 = so would be £163
• 5800 Avios + £ 90.00 = so would be £148
Also I realise it might not be best value to use this voucher for this trip as it’s only 1 way that we want, any advice welcome, TIA.
Rob did an article on this very recently, but generally the “old” RFS pricing is the best value.
Don’t forget that you have 12 months to use the return portion of the voucher – e.g. we used an expiring 241 from covid times for outbound to GIB last April, and are using the inbound portion to return from AGP in Feb.
Depends how Avios rich you are, but if following the generic 1p per point route you’ve answered your own question.
