I think that by telling BA that the Amex account is closed, @Royal124 has well and truly shot themselves in the foot and there would be little point in pursuing this. There are a number of takeaways! Let’s hope they’re too busy to start checking future 241 redemptions.

It’s a rather sad reflection to suggest that someone “has well and truly shot themselves in the foot” because they told the truth.
@royal124 I am truly sorry that this has happened to you, but applaud you, not only for being honest with BA but also telling us the story. As was mentioned here in another thread today, we tend to hear more of the good news than the bad news and the tale is most helpful in that it reminds everyone of the risks of the BAPP upgrade/downgrade dance.
