Forums Other Flight changes and cancellations help BA cancellation BA2732 23rd Sept – rebooked 24th Sept

  • 4 posts

Been following HFP for a number of years, but first time posting.

Had cancellation email from BA today for flight BA2732 LGW to ACE on Friday 23rd Sept @ 06:50 and re-booked onto BA2732 on Saturday 24th @ 14:40. Which means a day and a half missed from the holiday. Flights were booked as Reward flights.

I can see that Easyjet has flight at similar times to original BA flight, would I need to contact BA to see if they would re-route us on Easyjet? Or is there any better suggestions?

The last time we went LHR via MAD to ACE but the timings were very tight as Madrid airport was manic.

    Thanks for your help

BA456 from LHR -> MAD leaves at 06.20 and connects to BA7226 (codeshare with Iberia Express) to ACE at 11.25. You should then arrive at ACE at around 13.00. Would be easier to have BA put you on this than trying to book you on U2.

We went this route over the Jubilee weekend and Madrid security was awful and Iberia Express was worse than Ryanair for leg room, hubby not keen to go this way again (6’2″)
Although I would, as not wanting to lose a days holiday.

BA will not rebook onto anyone else flying to ACE and they’re all ticketless airlines that BA doesn’t interline with.

You do however have the right to reroute at the earliest opportunity – which CAA considers to be the same day if a flight is available. So you could if you wanted to call BA – ask for the Easyjet flight, they’ll say no. Have them note this in the booking and remove the outbound rebooked sector and protect the return. DO NOT TAKE A REFUND

Then buy the Easyjet tickets and post travel submit them to BA as UK261 Article 8 right to reroute expenses. Expect them to refuse and need to take it through letter before action / lodging an MCOL claim
