Flying to sin on the a380 with ba in business class as a couple

I’m gold (but at time of travel won’t be so gonna book early ) so don’t have to pay for seating

Are there any seats of 2 together in the middle which you don’t have to climb over anyone when getting out … rather not book window and aisle as the aisle isn’t really private

    Help appreciated

Upstairs, 53 AB or JK. The window seat is a fabulous space, like a private cubicle, possibly the best business class seat I’ve been in (which was good as we were 4 hours delayed departing for DXB in December). The bathrooms are huge!

Have a look on aerolopa to see the cabin layout. It’s very small, so feels private even if you’re in an aisle seat.

Which is unfortunately a bassinet seat so I don’t believe you’ll be able to take it until 24 hours before the flight.

So the answer is kind of not really. And as I suspect you know the window seats that don’t have to clamber over anyone have the worst aisle seats next to them as they are by the curtain and have the most noise and also for reasons I cannot understand invariably have cabin crew banging into them on a regular basis.

If mobility is an issue you are probably stuck with them if you want a pair.

Thanks for the info , it’s a shame there are only 1 pair of seats together which don’t have anyone climbing over you , main deck or upper

The problem with bassinet seats is that appear blocked up till OLCI opens, and then suddenly when check in opens, they have been booked. They are very rarely occupied by a family with an infant, but strangely seem to be occupied by passengers who are very friendly with the crew.

Bassinet seats are normally released around T-72, for those who know how to grab them.

Either way anything to do with check in, online or at the airport, has nothing to do with the crew!

    Thanks for help

So 15EF are not showing in the seat map (there not blocked or anything just no seats showing)

The other mentioned seats are occupied

Any other ones which you don’t have to climb over anyone

It’s 14E&F that are the centre bassinet pair but as mentioned the bassinet will be shown as blocked until close to take off. You could gamble and take the one next to it with the aisle seat and look to move but I would never play Russian roulette with a baby.

So you have the window pairs of 59AB and 59JK on the upper deck (but basinet seats for WT+ are directly behind you) and the (much less desirable) 15AB on the lower deck near the toilets – you could actually pee in there from your seat if you have good aim.

I’m definitely taking that. LMFAO. I mean, they’d shoot you for a rice cake!

Reviving this thread to ask about the notorious stepping over! My husband and I have an upcoming A380 trip in CW. We’ve flown on A380s before, but not with BA so the seating configuration will be a new experience.

If we get a window and an aisle seat together (I understand the limitations of aisle seats, but would be perfectly happy with one), would my husband be climbing over me, or the person behind? For example, if we were 50A/B, would he have to step over me or 51B?

The window seats step over the aisle seat in the row behind, except of course the last row in each cabin which don’t have a row behind.

Many couples prefer the two centre seats on the lower deck, which are fairly private once the dividers go up, but of course then both of you have to step over someone to get out (last row on the lower deck is the basinet seats so not available in advance).

Confirms my suspicions, thank you! Will see about availability on the main deck, though I must say that we’ve enjoyed the upper deck on Singapore Airlines’ A380s.
