So browsing through award flights for Asia and came across once or two instances of BA not showing me any award flights (even with companion voucher) but Finnair showing BA award flights on the same day…what gives?
I can’t book through Finnair as not enough avios/can’t move household Avios (and wouldn’t be able to apply voucher) but wondering whether this is some sort of mirage/glitch ?
Tokyo and Singapore availability generally gets snapped up the instant the tickets go on sale 355 days before the flight. If that’s where you’re looking in not surprised you only see partner airlines…
You can move avios to another person on Finnair for a fairly low fee, I think £10 approx, so that might be an option to book. It’s also possible/probable it’s ghost availability on the Finnair site.

No. I am talking about BA flights bookable on Finnair.com with Avios when the same flights are not coming up on the BA reward flight booking page, even with supposed enhanced availability due to 2-4-1.
I am not talking about finnair flights.

Correct 20 euros I think but you weirdly can’t do that in the first 90 days of having a finnair account. At any rate I don’t have enough avios to buy said flights on Finnair without the 2-4-1
Yes, BA releases more award tickets to partner airlines. It’s not a secret or a new thing. For Japan, it’s part of agreement between JAL, Finnair, Iberia and BA.

So just to confirm BA releases additional BA award flights beyond the states 4, to be sold by JAL and Finnair?
Thanks, I didn’t know.
I didn’t know that either – never seen it covered on here.

Oops, sorry! Serves me right for posting while jet lagged!
I was trying to take advantage of that, but the flight was not available and showed an error when I tried to make a payment. I called the Finnair helpline and they confirmed that even though I can see availability of the BA flight online, I can’t actually buy it.
