Hi. I see some articles saying Amex Platinum provides us with great car rental insurance with no excess. Does this mean I can just accept the minimum mandatory insurance required by Avis/Hertz and decline all other insurance offered by them? ie in my account preferences for Avis/Hertz, can I just say “decline” for all the insurance? Sorry, have never rented a car before and not sure, so sorry if this seems like an amateur question!!!
Yes, decline any extras. The platinum insurance will take care of you. The only time I’ve had to claim it was done while I was on the phone to them with no paperwork at all.
