Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Avios taxes and fees refund for cancelled reward flight – help!

I booked a reward flight for 4 passengers in July, booking the outbound from UK to US initially then the return a couple of weeks later. Our plans changed so I cancelled the flights in October. As it was not a straight forward booking (open jaw, inbound and outbound booked separately) I didnt get an instant refund but eventually got my miles recredited a few weeks later. Anyway, I paid 4x£237.50 for taxes on the outbound and 4x£187.50 for the return. Oddly I only received a refund for 4x£237.50 and 1x£187.50 and no deduction for admin fees (4x£30). I have chased BA for months now but still not received the balance. Anybody else experienced something similar and advise how to escalate?!

So just to clarify was this booked as two PNRs? I presume a voucher wasn’t used? If a voucher wasn’t used then really it’s just two one way flights rather than an open jaw which is a return booked as one PNR with different departure points

Assuming it’s two separate bookings pretty sure you’re actually subject to 8x£35 cancellation fees.
    So your cash refund should be £1700 – £280 = £1,420.00. So you’re due £282.50
