Hi
Today I recieved the following emaiil from the address: PFS.np.reply@emlpayments.com
Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope this e-mail finds you well.
We are writing to you as the card issuer of the Avios Card Program, which has now ended. We are writing to inform you that we will be introducing a monthly dormant account maintenance fee of £2.50 per month to cards or accounts that are dormant and unused over a rolling 12-month period for this Card Program.
EML bears significant costs maintaining these cards and accounts where it holds unused funds and/or continues to provide its platform and ongoing service. This dormant account maintenance fee is in compliance with the applicable local legislation.
This fee will be implemented from 1st June 2025.
We thank you in advance for your co-operation.
With very best regards,
PFSL EML Account Management Team “
I believe this is from the mastercard avios card account that was live for a few years, I had maybe £10 on there which I couldn’t remove for one reason or another, and now its saying I will have to pay a monthly fee. Has anyone else received this?
Thanks
Yes I received the same email earlier.
I think it is the British Airways Prepaid card it relates too. I have no idea how you even access the account now, it used to be via the BA Exec app that is now rebranded as ‘Avios’ but that’s all been removed.
I thought the card was now dead so I just replied asking them to cancel my account and confirm that this had been done stating I have no intention of paying fees for a broken and useless product.
Had also received this. Will be doing the same as ‘Points Hound’:

Dormant account fees just allow them to mop up what’s left unspent in accounts in a tidy fashion. They won’t charge you if you have no credit.
IIRC they even set up a system for people to be paid their balances back (with no fees) when they announced the closure. There was an article at the time about it.
Don’t recally anyone saying they had any problems gettign their £ back at the time.
