Using Avios for cash discounts on Iberia

I have a longstanding IB+ account (many years).

I have a longstanding BAEC account (again, many years).

I can transfer Avios between them (when Combine My Avios is actually working !).

But I’m darned if I can work out how to use Avios to get a discount off an IB revenue fare…

A quick idiot’s guide to doing so would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Usually when I’ve checked IB against BA AVIOS the amount required for exactly the same flight using our IB account has been less AVIOS.

Thanks for the reply but plans on hold due likelihood of Spanish borders being closed shortly 🙁
