I’m not a regular enough commenter to know if this is normal. I tried to comment a few times recently (not in the forum, on the articles) and they do not seem to appear. I don’t know if I’m being impatient, or offending some moderator, or accidentally triggering some sort of spam filter. I have commented successfully in the past.
I have tried on both Safari (mobile) and Firefox desktop (former with ad blocker, latter without). Are there any known issues around article comments?

Certain words (and not just the usual obscenities) do appear to trigger a post being sent to moderation. It’s word and not browser dependent.
The speed of release depends on what else Rob and Rhys are doing at the time to release them.
Mon-Fri we are good at releasing stuff.
If it submits, it will get released UNLESS it breaks our unwritten rules on ‘attack the ball and not the player’, is offensive or is against the best interests of the site.
Someone reported issues recently with not being able to submit a comment – ie the form would not click – which is something we have never seen before.
I wasn’t attacking anyone or swearing. The submit button was pressable and the request appeared to get sent. No comments appeared. Tried maybe 4 or 5 times.

That means your comment went into moderation for manual review.
