Applying without a BAEC

Would it be ok if my wife applied for this card if she hasn’t yet set up her British Airways executive club for the avios & upgrade voucher?
Just waiting on her new passport and obviously this 50k offer expires soon.
Can the BAEC information be added down the line

I think it says that if you don’t have a BAEC account to link in the application process, they will create one for you.

But why don’t you just set one up before your wife applies? I don’t remember being asked to put my passport details in when I joined.

No passport information is required for a BAEC account until you want to check in for a flight. Even if you wanted to add it now, you can always update it later.
