I have some Shangri-La points expiring and looking to burn them in Aqua at the Shard next month. I have done it previously (pre-covid) and wondered if anyone had done it more recently. I presume it works the same way it did although so much has been “enhanced” of late I am not so sure.
Thanks in advance….
We went to Gong in February Roberto, and used points. If I remember correctly I exchanged the points for a voucher beforehand and then showed a code on the app when I paid the bill. All very smooth. Great bar!

Aqua is not part of Shangri-La (AFAIK) so not sure you can redeem there unless I missed the memo about being able to use it in non-hotel restaurants within the Shard.
Hi @Roberto – as @Benilyn says, Aqua is not part of the Shangri-La offering – it’s separately owned so you can’t redeem with them.
However, as per @BlueLabel earlier, you can do so at either Ting, their restaurant on level 36 of the Shard (where they have the hotel reception etc) or Gong, the highest hotel bar in Europe, on level 52.
We were at Gong the week before last for late night drinks, before the start of our USA trip, and paying with points worked seamlessly. Views are great and if you need to burn the points it’s a fun way to do it! I had a bunch of SQ miles expiring so transferred to Shangri La and at least got some value from them. In fact, that was our second attempt at spending them as when we went to Ting last year for dinner the points were never deducted, so they have gone further than I expected!
One tip is that the sharing plates are quite big – we waaaaay over ordered for two when we got 2 x sharing platters plus truffle fries and tempura prawns … could have served four easily. I thought about offering to share with the nice Russian man and his ‘daughter’ sitting next to us, particularly as she had very little clothing so I thought the food might warm her up, but Mrs Globetrotter wasn’t keen 😉
