Amex to Hilton transfer promo due?

Are there any data points on how often or what times of the year the Amex to HH points transfer promos run?

Or even better when we can expect a transfer promo?

Only DPs I can find is an article from Oct 22 and another from Oct 19 but nothing in between.

Yes they’re pretty infrequent. Just from memory I’d be surprised if there was one more recently than 2022, and before that 2019 so on that pattern 2025 will be the next 😀

The most recent bonuses here and in the USA are generally 30% so only take things up to 0.86p of value per MR point anyway which isn’t fantastic. If you value MR points at 1p/point (which is VERY conservative these days given how many different places you can send them to get outsized value – you can get well over 3p/point on the Virgin cruise offers for example) you’re “paying” 0.38p per Hilton point. Given there are very regular 100% cash purchase bonuses where you can buy Hilton points at 0.4p (one just finished so there will be another one along any second now 😀 ) then probably just worth doing that if the maths works on your target redemption rather than hanging on for an Amex transfer promo that may never arrive.

I usually use around 1mil MR during peak season in the Middle East and get pretty good value as cash rates are through the roof.

I’m about 250k HH short this time and was hoping for a transfer promo which would bring me to the number I need.

Looks like it’ll be safer to just buy them with the double points purchase promo 👍🏼

I have used this promo twice and both times the points failed to post correctly. It took a good couple of months on ineffectual customer services before the matters were resolved. I was not alone in this.

It’s a moot point because there is no offer, but if you want/need the bonus for a specific short term redemption I would be wary.
