Amex refer a friend bonus

I am sure to have read what is possible before but also read recently of some problems caused by this behaviour:

I am the director of a business where my wife is also a director. I had a gold business charge card over 18 months ago and my wife had hers for 11 months (on the same business name but opened under her name).

Could she potentially “refer” me to open a new card in my name for the same business? If so, how fast would the refer bonus post (idea is to transfer the MR point to Avios and closing it before the 12 Months anniversary/charge).

Alternatively, would still be ok to refer me for a personal Platinum card?

Referrals are fine to each other and the business name is incidental, the liability sits personally with the main cardholder. Just be careful about sign up restrictions as some have been tweaked recently, (E.g. 18months for the BusPlat).
