Amex Platinum – can you swap the supplementary holder?

How easy is it to change the Sup card holder. Various friends could benefit. Talking about changing once a year not a week!

I cancelled my current sup card holder last week, took 5mins on Chat. I’m hoping when I go to add a different person, it’s as simple as it was first time!

I’ve done this quite a few times – it’s easier if the person you want to make your Platinum supp is already down as a Gold supp on your account (remember your can have 5 free) so set them up as that first and then you can call Amex and get them to switch them around as you need.

Possibly dumb question; if you’re a Plat holder and you add a Gold supp, does that card earn double points for airline spend?

No, that is a Preferred Rewards Gold benefit and that is a different product to the supp Gold you get (no Deliveroo credits etc either).
