Forums Payment cards American Express Amex International Currency Cards – is Green still available?

Rob had an article about Amex ICC cards in December 2020. Its at: https://www.headforpoints.com/2020/12/21/american-express-international-euro-dollar-platinum-card/ It would be good to have a regular topic corner for ICC holders and applicants to raise questions. I have one…

Is the Green Euro Amex International Currency Card still available for UK residents? I found the application online but Amex aren’t publishing it in their list of available ICC cards. I don’t want to go to the trouble of getting my identity and address certified if I subsequently submit the application and am told the Green card for UIK residents is being phased out.

a few other pieces of ICC strangeness —

    – the call centre automated system doesn’t recognise ICC card numbers … if you want to talk to an ICC trained agent you are better off NOT trying and just demanding an agent at every voice prompt

    – ICC cards can’t be added to Apple Pay

    – ICC app is very feature light — eg no PIN reminder feature

The call centre has successfully recognised my number with no issues.

And I’ll add another oddity: if you ever receive a call from the automated fraud system asking to verify charges, they refer to the card as a corporate card. Despite the charges being in dollar or euro, the system reads them out as pounds…

All in all, they could really do good in refining the rough edges of this product (fall in line with a metal card, refresh the app, allow web access to Amex Travel site, etc.).

I’m guessing you’re looking for this page: https://www.americanexpress.com/icc/cards/the-green-international-currency-card.html

Thanks Youllnever, I should have searched more! The Amex site I saw just showed the Platinum, Gold and Basic ICC versions.
