I currently have the gold business card and I am planning to apply for the personal gold or platinum card. I am wondering if have to transfer my MR points when I close the gold business because they will get lost in 30 days if I don’t, or if my points will carry on accumulating with the personal card.
Not necessary.
Your MR account is totally separate to your cards. You can add your new personal card to your existing MR account.
You’ll need to ask Amex (via chat) to merge the MR accounts so your points are pooled. Then you can cancel cards without the balance being affected

Wise words.
Mrs B did not do this and it took several chats and phone calls (over about three weeks) to eventually get the MR points transferred to her ARRC.
