Amex FHR prepay booking issue

Hi all

I’ve been trying to book a FHR hotel online on the Amex website as part of the prepay 5 MR points deal. However I keep getting an ‘unexpected error’ message on the booking screen once I’ve clicked book now.

Having spoken to Amex they’re aware of the issue but advice seems to be to try different browsers and clear cache etc which hasn’t worked so far.

Are others having the same issue and has anyone managed to find a workaround that works?

I had the exact same problem last week. I called the number on the back of the Platinum Card and they were able to make the booking on my behalf and immediately sent through the confirmation by email.

The email included Marriott’s reference so was able to link the booking through on the Marriott app.

Thanks. That’s helpful. Were they able to book the prepaid rate as agent I spoke to seemed to think he could only do the pay at hotel option?

I didn’t ask I’m afraid I was just after a pay at checkout booking.
