Hi, I’ve applied for the Amex Platinum card and it’s on its way to me. I leave Wednesday for a couple of nights in London with work then fly from LHR T3 on Friday morning with Etihad to Sydney.
I’m platinum with Etihad and flying business, so I can use their lounge facility in T3, but I’d really like to try the Amex Centurion lounge.
If I don’t receive the card before leaving on Wednesday, is there any way I can prove it is on it’s way and gain access? If not, I have lounge access elsewhere but I’d really like to try the Amex lounge if possible.
Thanks for any tips!
You should have it by Wednesday, unless Metal cards take longer than plastic ones.
This may not be of much help, but during one of the Frieze fairs in London, Amex had a Platinum lounge set up, which I was able to access by showing the fact that my card appeared in the app. Airport lounges may not be this lax, but it’s an idea…
Sod’s law. The post yesterday arrived (with my platinum card) after I left for London.
Managed to add the card to my Amex account and Apple Pay after someone opened the post for me. Hoping to access the lounge with showing my card in the Amex app.
