For future reference though does anyone know if the offer would track if it was done through AMEX travel?
If it’s pay at hotel, it will. Prepaid to Amex travel won’t.
For reference – list of participating properties here…

This is so annoying, when it’s a Hilton offer you can pre-pay and get the cash back!
The other option would be to cancel our IC booking in Edinburgh and book a Marriott property instead, maybe via Emyr for breakfast and credit?
Hilton offer won’t be far behind. They usually appear within days of each other.

Indeed, Strictly back on tv and the autumn-winter hotel offers. Next up will be Fenwick. My fave time of year 😁

Fenwick already arrived today
Is Amex usually quite strict on the list of participating properties?
I’m wondering if cashback will trigger at some of the new UK properties soon to open in a couple of months but are not on the list.Hilton offer won’t be far behind. They usually appear within days of each other.

Which card did you get it on?

As far as I recall, when wide-ranging offers have been included in the past even when new properties clearly within the beands covered have opened in the offer window, they have not paid out if not on the original list.
This Marriott list is of course far from a complete list of their properties in each territory included.

I have two hotels I regularly stay at two marriot hotels, they are never on any of the participating Marriott list of hotels, but every time they track with Amex offers, so I wouldn’t bet against it.

I have an old blue MRExpress card. Is 20 off 100
That also has the Marriott offer
My plat, unsurprisingly, has neither…

Prepayment has always worked for me for Marriott hotels in the UK in the past, although it varies greatly when the hotel takes the payment (with Hilton it is always immediate now).
I usually use this when the offer is on my partner’s card instead of my own.

My Plat has both.
@meta, if you’re reading, thanks for your help on the article yesterday about this offer. I had another look at the PDF and spotted a couple of hotels with “MOTO” added. Are these the ones which WON’T qualify for the offer? The AC Palacio Malaga, which I’d like to book, doesn’t have any extra wordage like this!
Moto means customer not present and it’s usually for phone bookings. There are also some with Internet next to them, which would imply online bookings are safe.
I’m not sure how it works with those hotels that are only mentioned once on the list like yours.
Ok, thanks. I might try booking 2 nights to (hopefully) use one of the credits and see if it tracks. Then if it doesn’t, stick with Hilton for the rest of the stay!
Is the offer really not valid at Marriott Heathrow? I’m staying there late October and would like the cashback. Renaissance LHR on the other hand shows in the list 3 times.
My credit landed today for a booking at Marriott Maida Vale, about 3 days after booking.
I booked the AC Palacio Malaga and the credit posted the day after the payment went through. Still waiting for the Hyatt one and suspect I may have to chase it …
I want to book a hotel in Liverpool and use this offer saved on my card
when I checked the list there is only one hotel that is eligible for this offer called
Marriott Liverpool city centre (One Queen Square, Liverpool L1 1RH) which was rebranded in October 2022 to Delta Hotels by Marriott Liverpool City Centre ( same address)
when I asked Amex over the chat whether I would still get the offer if I spend £300 at Delta Hotels by Marriott Liverpool City Centre given the same address and same brand they were not able to give me a definitive answer and just said we will have to raise this with the appropriate team to decide
Anyone able to confirm if I will get the cash back offer given the same address and same hotel with a different rebranded name ?If they are still using the same credit card merchant account (since that is what triggers the cash I think) then you’re fine but I wouldn’t do a stay unnecessarily because Amex has a very easy getout.
So what is the consensus on Marriott advance bookings? Do they always trigger the offer when booking direct like Hilton?

I’ve made 2 advance bookings (2 x 2 nights at the AC Palacio Malaga), with our two cards and both £100 posted within a couple of days.
Hi
Looking at the latest list of Participating Locations in Marriotts 100 off 250 lists, there is the JW Steakhouse in London listed – does anyone have any positive experiences of getting the cashback? I was thinking of using the offer for a meal there as no upcoming stays. I presume cumulative stays count, already billed 156 of stay to the card (last month) so hoping another £100 spend at the steakhouse will trigger the cashback.
Kind regards and TIA
