I have a booking with AA on Dec. 30th DUB-LHR-DFW-CUN. They have just written telling me “There has been a change in your trip” and my new flight is now DUB-PHL. I am baffled as that is not where I want to go! I have hotels booked in Cancun. What are my options here please?
Firstly, have you checked your actual booking in case PHL was a typo? Or is it now PHL instead of DFW but the rest is the same? OR DUB-PHL-DFW-CUN (all possible with AA).
Obviously they have to get you to CUN because that’s what you booked, but it sounds as though there’s a genuine mistake in there somewhere.
But yikes, yes, I doubt PHL will be as balmy and enticing as CUN in December!
*I am also hacked off with AA just now as they have changed my civilised 11.30 departure to Key West to 8.30 am!! They seem to be doing a lot of schedule changes atm.
Thank you so much for the reassuring reply NorthernLass. Ticket has changed from:

And that is it!…..I am baffled and have been on hold for an hour so far……
When did this happen? Sometimes when flights are changed it takes a couple of days for them to show accurately in your booking? Don’t worry, it’s 3 months till you travel and you’re protected by EU261 if AA are seriously intending to only take you to PHL.
Also, do you live near DUB or LHR? I find actually presenting oneself to a ground agent is the best way of sorting out snarly ticketing issues.
Did you book via BA or AA? You might be better using chat or Twitter than hanging on the phone.
Booked with AA. The email arrived 2 hours ago – thank you once again; I greatly appreciate your kind responses.

it’s AA… there’ll be at least 10 more time changes before your December trip 😂😂😂
An excellent chap has just resolved this and I`m now going DUB-LHR-PHL-DFW-CUN
Thank you for your comments.
Glad you got it sorted but that’s a lot of connections! As @AndyGWP says, AA are notorious for changing/cancelling and also delays (especially on domestic flights) so be prepared for further disruption and waiting for a later connection if one of your flights is delayed. They will get you there in the end though!
