Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Air France using Virgin Points

I can see AF availablity for plenty of dates on Seatspy. Should I be able to book these flights using virgin miles? None of them show up on virgins site. Is this something only possible when you call them?

Also, the point requirements are huge on AF (360k for a one way in J from Paris to Mauritius for example), do these translate to virgin miles or is it 1:1 (which is even more insane than virgins dynamic pricing)?

AFKLM makes ALL seats available for rewards, pretty much. This is what SeatSpy sees.

Unfortunately its a similar system to Virgin’s new one. Only ‘Saver’ seats can be booked by partners and you’re going to struggle to find many of those.

If Virgin Atlantic can’t see it, it’s almost certainly unbookable. A quick look at the AFKLM site to see how many miles it needs to book via them (a lot) will explain why.

Someone else posted this link a couple of weeks back which has a good explainer of booking various other airlines:

For what it’s worth, the saver reward tickets that are available usually cost considerably less in VS points than the equivalent FB points. (I find it quite difficult to spend Flying Blue points for that reason.)
