Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Aeromexico / Virgin Flying Club number issues

  • 36 posts

I’ve an Aeromexico flight coming up and trying to add my and my wife’s FC numbers as a partner airline. Computer says no, spoke to an AM customer services rep and says that the numbers I have given do not bring an FC match so can’t assist further.

The names appear to match, we have a hyphenated surname but the FC account and all bookings are stored without the hyphen/ no space after learning previous lessons about this.

So what’s the best route to resolve – Virgin customer services or is there a AM email address which has humans who can respond? I tried the AM chat support too but no response as it’s in the too difficult category.

Is there any way you can make the booking appear in your FC account? I’ve got an AM booking, but I did it from the the VS account so the FC number is already there. The PNR is in the same format as a VS booking, but I don’t know if AM issue them in the same way?

I had the same issue with Aeromexico flights. Got the Virgin number added on at airport check in. Couldn’t do it online at all.

Aeroméxico is a Sabre based airline whereas Virgin is, owing to its ownership, based on Deltamatic so your booking will have a different type of PNR that may not be compatible. I’m not sure if VS uses a different system or GDS when booking on partner airlines The AM app is excellent.

Thanks everyone, I booked with AM direct so I think the only immediate option is to try at check in. It’s not a massive issue as I do not have VA status but would like the points (assuming they award them) as it is a Business Class domestic booking.

Does anyone know when Aeromexico flights become available to book through VFC? I know 331 days is the rule but I’m looking 326 days out and Virgin say there’s nothing. Of course that may be true, I just lack faith. Is there a way to check? KLM just shows Copa Airlines.
