Hi all,
Does anyone have experience with making a claim with Aer Lingus. Is there an equivalent to the BA CEDR process? I’ve not even been able to get customer relations to acknowledge the original claim (beyond the usual holding message).
This is for a short notice cancellation from DUB to LHR at the end of June.
Thanks!
@moderator – apologies if this should have been in the cancellation support forum
Aer Lingus doesn’t participate in one of the arbitration schemes. They are quite resistant to paying compensation by all accounts and have been pleading covid as ‘extraordinary circumstances’. I get the impression that their Irish regulator, the Commission for Aviation Regulation isn’t too bothered about that. You will need to keep plugging away and if unsuccessful and you wish to pursue it, contemplate MCOL.
I submitted a complaint to the Irish CAR last Weds night and had a response Thurs lunchtime from a case officer, who had already made initial contact with the airline re my complaint. They have an online form and a separate (very accessible) FlightRights website that gives an indication of how much time they expect to have elapsed before escalating a complaint to them.
Thanks both, super helpful. Will wait it out another week or two and then look at the Ireland CAR route before MCOL.
Will report back on any progress…
Could you explain what Irish CAR IS PLEASE
