Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Advice on redeeming points and companion voucher

  • 4 posts

    Hi all,

I took out a Virgin Mastercard and now have c150K points and two companion vouchers. I don’t intend to keep collecting Virgin points long term so happy to use them all. I’d like to book a trip but have never used Virgin points before.

If i was to book, say, Tampa it looks like I need 95,000 + companion and c£2000 taxes in cash vs c£2700 for an Upper Class cash ticket. There’s a mention of needing 1.5x points as a red member to book Upper Class so perhaps c142500 points.

Or I can burn 2 x companion vouchers and use them to upgrade 2 x premium points tickets to Upper Class. 110,0000 + 2 x companion + c£2000 taxes in cash.

Have I got that right please? Thanks in advance.

    Paul

I think so if you have 2 companion vouchers to burn it should be better (points wise) to use them to upgrade both of you from PE to Upper.
