Apologies for the potential duplicate/rookie question (!) – new to the forum, but I have guest-posted in HfP before! https://www.headforpoints.com/2018/04/15/review-air-china-business-class-london-beijing/
Redeeming the Barclays Cabin Upgrade Voucher. Is it possible to redeem for the first leg (once reward availability appears for the ‘target’ destination class), and then modify the booking (online or via telephone) to add the second leg once return availability opens up?
I’ve done this before on the 2-4-1 a long time ago, unsure on (i) current BA rules (ii) they way BA will behave on this specific voucher.
The voucher has an awful lot of limitations which mostly seem IT-based. Have you tried doing a dummy booking to see if it will let you book a one-way for one person? I have a feeling that BA can’t do a much with it manually either.

It will indeed let me book 1-way, but the language on the page says that I am claiming the voucher. Modification later seems a gamble with BA customer services.
In case this helps anyone: BA told me I could indeed add the return leg once reward availability opened it (via phone) for £0. They said there aren’t any technical limitations within the IT systems on that voucher.
I’ll find out the hard way soon I guess!
