Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Hilton Honors Adding HHonors to third party booking

  • 76 posts

Hilton appear to have made it much more difficult to add your hhonors number to a third party booking, such as that made via work or via Amex travel. Ironically, AMEX Platinum provide Hilton Gold as a benefit but you can’t add your number when you make a booking via the AMEX travel site.

I used to call hhonors and they would usually add the number but now, they are saying they can’t do this (have never been able to, by two separate hhonors customer service people) and that I should show provide the details at check-in.

Did I just run into two new trainees in succession or have Hilton stopped doing this over the phone now (as I have done this many times in the past?).

Email the hotel to do it

Yes that worked for me even though the hotel said my booking wasn’t eligible for any points as it was booked through work for a conference. I mainly wanted it for the easier check in and digital key. However I did receive a few points after the stay which was a nice surprise!

I’ve called the hotel directly a few times to do it. No points, but generally get the perks.

Yes it’s a weak spot of the program. Unlike some competing schemes, you aren’t entitled to earn Honors points for F&B charges on an ineligible stay.

I have found that searching for the booking in the app, scrolling to the left on the upcoming stays page (not on the website) tends to work to associate my Honors number with a third party booking.
