Seen it mentioned in comments a bit but was hoping to get some more detail from people who have done it.
It asks for one registered share or 50 bearer ones.
Can I just buy one share on trading212 and use that? Or do we need the full 50.
If someone has done that before, what did you use as proof and where did you send it. I signed up using their form but just got a confirmation email saying id receive gold 3 weeks after sending proof of ownership. Where would I send that to?
Thanks,
Josh
This link shows a bit more on this:

Seems like you need your broker to register with Accor. However, I am not sure how easy that will be with one of these cheaper brokers like trading212. I know Hargreaves Landsdown do let you do this.
I made a reasonable sized investment in Accor anyway, so tried to go down the ‘bearer’ route thinking it would use less time, but the form doesn’t seem to work, I cannot upload my proof of ownership. I emailed them a week ago but no reply.

Going to park this idea for a bit as I have no plans to stay in an Accor hotel any time soon.IIRC it’s only Gold for the first year, so not worth the hassle unless you really want to invest
Appears to be for the rest of the current year, plus a further year. Wonder if you can then reregister if you still hold the shares.
So they accepted showing ownership of 1 share in T212? My understanding was that they’d only accept 1 share if said share was transferred to their custodian otherwise it was 50 shares minimum
How long does the share membership last? do you keep the membership and status as long as you are a share holder?

No, as the per comments above and my experience, you only get a years worth (perhaps closer to two depending on when in the year you apply) of enhanced status after becoming a shareholder. You will drop back to silver afterwards.

Nope one time and one year only

Yep the common misunderstanding all over the web. You only need 1 share. I did it myself.
To follow up, I used 1 share on T212, sent an email to them with the proof of it (got the PDF proof of the share from the t212 app) and then got gold status in around 3 weeks.
@Josh well done and thank you for sharing the data point. The detail on how you succeeded is much more helpful than earlier comments from other posters that it could be done but containing no methodology! Does your gold status expire 31/12/24 or 25?
Do you send them a direct email or just attach the pdf once you’ve selected the first option?
Anyone know how long it takes to receive the goldcard and update to your status? It’s been three weeks now and I haven’t received a card nor an update to my status. I included an attachment when applying but not to the subsequent email.

I’m also waiting 3 weeks so far and didn’t get the status.
Anyone knows if getting gold level through shareholder program brings you closer to platinum status? e.g. do I need to spen whole 5600 EUR to get platinum, or only 2800 (5600 for Platinum – 2800 for Gold)?
Hope this helps, steps I took:
1. Signed up via form on website – they sent me an acknowledgement email
2. Sent an email to them with PDF proof of holding
3. They sent an email back confirming the proof and saying I will be gold in three weeks.
4. Three weeks passed and nothing, so I sent a chasing email.
5. Had a reply back within a day and my gold status was updated online same day.Hope this helps, steps I took:

@Josh that is a super helpful breakdown. Are you also able to answer @wasylf ‘s question about how much spend is indicated in the app to get you from the newly minted gold status up to platinum? Thanks! It is asking for 7k status points or 30 nights to maintain status. I have around £3k worth of stays booked in for later this year so will see what happens after that.
Thank you @Josh!
Following your instruction I also sent e-mail (to Communication.Financiere@accor.com) asking about the status of the application and they replied a couple hours later confirming that I got the gold status.

Answering my own question, need to have full 60 nights / 14k points to get Platinum, therefore there is no “boost” from the Gold status.
I had to email customer services before they updated my status to ‘Gold’ in their app. I haven’t received a card through the post though but not sure if they do that

So if your aim is Platinum level (suite night awards, lounge access and free weekend breakfast) then skip this and look at the All Signature route to status (https://www.headforpoints.com/forums/topic/combinations-of-all-paid-programs/). However, this one share route is the most cost effective way to Gold (upgrade & welcome drinks benefits), albeit a one-off that can’t be repeated if you don’t retain status from spend/stays.
I purchased 1 share via Trading 212 and sent a Proof of Holding via the Documents –> Confirmation of Holdings –> Generate Document route. Accor have just emailed back saying this document indicates I hold 1 share in bearer form (rather than 1 registered share or 50 bearer shares, as required for Gold). Have I done something wrong or just got unlucky?
