I have booked AAdvanatge redemption on EY flights in Y.
I just learned that EY is booking these under HBO category i.e. no check-in bag allowance.
Has anyone recently used AA miles on EY and can confirm?
Surely this means it is a no go for a long haul flights
What matters is what your AA booking says about bags.
Good god those prices must be a joke. I suggest you try Flyertalk for a more active Aadvantage community; I have used them for EY and QR but in biz.

I have just looked up and it only shows carry-on bags. Surely that doesn’t sound right.
I might end up cancelling my reard flights. It is better to buy a cash ticket then the HBO for a long distance flight.

I have used both pre-pandemic and there was no such issue with baggage allowance.
This time even the food options cannot be selected so something is afoot. Will try FT for sure, as I will not be the only victim I guess.
For anyone in similar situation, contact AA who will need to re-issue/re-endorse the ticket to include Baggage Allowance.
AA seems to be issuing tickets without any endorsement and then left to partner airline. Without correct baggage allowance stated in the booking the EY will charge through the roof for the check-in baggage as per my picture earlier.
I have now received new tickets and can see luggage allowance updated on EY app.
