Forums Other Flight changes and cancellations help AA Cancelation on BA Booking 350 miles Rebooking Rule

  • 10 posts

    Hi all
Booked an avios flight from San Antonio to London via Chicago with AA booked through BA.
AA have cancelled the San Antonio to Chicago flight and rebooked me on a flight early in the morning 7.5 hours earlier than the original departure.
There are flights available on BA website both cash and Avios via Dallas.
BA say they can’t rebook me via Dallas as there is a 350 miles limit on rebooking and Dallas is more than 350 miles from Chicago.
I thought this only applied to departure and arrival airports and not connecting airports?
    Is this correct?

The 350 miles to which to refer is actually 300 miles and it is explicitly for a change of gateway, so relates to the departure or destination point. However, the BA agent is looking at the wrong thing; the 300 miles concession is irrelevant to your situation. If your first flight is cancelled the agent can rebook book you an any other AA routing under the Atlantic Joint Business agreement. You probably just need to call again and hopefully get a more helpful agent.

Isn’t the 300 mile concession a BA one that only applies to it’s own flights?

Alternativly look at cancelling your current reservation and rebooking your new routing anew.

Yes, it is a concession only applied to BA flights but it doesn’t matter here, the BA rebooking guidelines for Transatlantic Joint Business allow a change of routing following a cancellation.
