I am considering changing more MR points to Marriott, however I am aware that there soon will be changes to the redemption rates based on room rates, no longer category of property, is that correct.
I would think that more points will likely be needed and I am unlikely able to book a redemption at, for example, Residence Inn near Central Park NYC for 220000 points (5 nights) again, but likely many more points.
Do they keep the ‘get 1 night free’ on 5 night point redemptios?
The changes are already here. It’s now dynamic pricing. You still get 5 for 4 nights with the cheapest one being free.
Jumping on this but in a good way! I was 12k points short for a 5 4 4 redemption (250k points) for a Club room at the RC Doha and booked on points advance, but it was going to be a struggle finding the extra points without paying for them so was waiting for a bonus offer to appear. Just logged into my Bonvoy account and the points price had dropped by nearly 30k in the interim! This is for December, so worth checking any reward bookings you have this year.
