(DEAD?) Got a PayPal account? Get 25% off IHG hotel bookings

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

IHG, owner of the InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Hotel Indigo, Staybridge Suites etc brands, has launched a new partnership.

Until the end of June, anyone with a PayPal account will get a 25% discount on their IHG hotel bookings.

Even better, rooms booked under this offer are fully cancellable.

(EDIT, 7.30am – this rate appears to have been pulled. We will investigate.)

Get 25% off IHG hotel bookings with PayPal

You can find this offer on the IHG website here.

Here are the rules:

  • you must stay at least two nights
  • your stay must include at least one night on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday
  • you must book at least seven days in advance
  • you will save at least 25% off Best Flexible Rate
  • unlike IHG sale rates, your discounted room retains roughly the same cancellation rules as Best Flexible Rate – you can cancel without penalty within 3-7 days of arrival, depending on hotel
  • stays earn IHG One Rewards points as usual
  • the last day to book is 30th June but stays can be at a later date

In theory you can be asked to prove that you have a PayPal account at check-in.

You won’t be paying for the room by PayPal – indeed, this isn’t even possible. You will pay at check-out as usual.

Here is an example from Kimpton Fitzroy in London (image above) for a stay in London:

IHG PayPal partner discount

As you can see, the PayPal promo rate is SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper than any other booking option, even non-refundable ones.

If you don’t have a PayPal account (not that you need one to book, but you will need one if you want to remain entirely within the terms of the offer), my referral link here gives you £10 when you make your first payment of £5+ for a product or service via PayPal within 30 days.

Bookings must be made via this page of the IHG website.

Would be handy if someone could pull the rate number so folks can use the mobile app … amongst other paths to IHG

  • Geoggy says:

I must be doing something wrong as looking at 3 nights in September in London and not getting the rate. The drip down box for rate just says Best available?

    • BA Flyer IHG Stayer says:

Indeed the line to enter a corporate code (like the Railcard one) is missing.

I tried adding the code @BrianN posted below when using the app and that doesn’t work as it’s not recognised.

  • BrianN says:

Can’t get it to work on any date or hotel I’ve tried.

Based on the LL website link the code is 99634986 but can’t get it to work with that either.

    Anyone else has success?

    • AndrewT says:

Where did you acquire that from? It needs to be nine digits.

      railcard is 786996886

Paypal is 787159194 I searched Tokyo, vienna, budapest for wend-sat in june 2025 and found nothing. Got a single holiday inn in Berlin

      • LittleNick says:

Thanks for the code but just coming up selected rate not available

  • dave says:

Not working for me either, got lots of bookings coming up, tried on all of them and nothing

  • James says:

Rate doesn’t come up when I searched for a July weekend in Dublin.

  • BJ says:

If booking for somebody else then presumably it is them who potentially needs the paypal account?

  • David says:

I’ve tried different potential bookings in the U.K., Europe and elsewhere and the promotional rate is never shown – not sure what I’m doing wrong.

  • Craig says:

Would this work for existing bookings?
