Today I want to look at which airlines you can earn Avios from.
You know about British Airways, of course. But there are actually 37 airlines which let you earn Avios for some or all of their flights.
With Garuda Indonesia becoming an Avios partner today (story to follow!) and Scottish carrier Loganair adopting Avios as its loyalty currency next week, I thought it was worth updating this article.
The list will change again when Oman Air joins oneworld, which we expect to happen around June 2025. Until then, you can only earn Avios via Qatar Airways Privilege Club on the route between Doha and Muscat.
Scandinavian regional carrier Braathens has been removed from this list. The partnership with Finnair ended in December 2024.
Which airlines let you earn Avios?
The list below is alphabetical. In brackets, I have added the programmes which let you earn Avios from that airline:
BA for British Airways Club
IB for Club Iberia Plus
AC for AerClub
VC for Vueling Club
QR for Qatar Airways Privilege Club
AY for Finnair Plus
LO for Loganair
Note that in some cases only certain ticket types will earn. Heavily discounted Aer Lingus tickets do not earn Avios in British Airways Club, for example. You need to credit such flights to an Aer Lingus AerClub account and then transfer the Avios to your BA account.
Here we go:
Aer Lingus (AC, BA)
Air Nostrum / Iberia Regional (AY, IB, BA)
Airlink (QR)
Alaska Airlines (AY, BA, IB, QR)
American Airlines (AC, AY, BA, IB, QR)
Avianca (IB, selected routes only)
Bangkok Airways (QR)
Binter Canarias (IB)

Can we get something similar for Emirates Skywards and Flyingblue? My BA spend is down 90pct because the schedule is dreadful for business trips and the product is mediocre. No point adding Avios to a poor proposition.
Adding to Emirates would be useful though.
Beginner’s question here, but would I earn the same number of Avios on any program if eligable?
For example, if I fly with Royal Air Maroc, I could credit BA, IB, AY or QR, and transfer Avios between the programs? Would it make any difference which one I credit to, or do they award the same Avios to each program?
