Coming Wednesday: a great Marriott night out you can buy for 1 Bonvoy point

Marriott Bonvoy has been running the ‘1-Point Drop’ for a while now, primarily in the US. This is the first time that we have featured one in the UK.

It’s very simple.

At a certain time, an event will become bookable on the Marriott Moments website for a grand total of 1 Marriott Bonvoy point.

Stanley Tucci Marriott Moments

This upcoming event is pretty cool and I’m annoyed that I’m going to be away when it takes place on 24th April at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel.

You and a friend will get to attend a cocktail reception and chat with Stanley Tucci, followed by a four course, wine paired, meal from acclaimed chef Richard Corrigan.

Not bad going for 1 Bonvoy point, which we’d value at 0.5p.

Tickets will become bookable at 4pm on Wednesday afternoon. There is a countdown clock here.

13 pairs of tickets will be sold for 1 Marriott Bonvoy point. A further two pairs will be auctioned. I suspect these will go for a decent points sum since the meal itself is worth around £400.

To quote Marriott:

Experience cocktails and conversation with Academy Award-nominated actor, writer, director, and producer Stanley Tucci in celebration of his new book ‘What I Ate in One Year’. After Stanley departs, members will enjoy a private dinner at one of London’s revered restaurants, Corrigan’s Mayfair, at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London.

To start the evening, members will hear anecdotes from Stanley about his life and his book through a moderated conversation with Edith Bowman, famed Scottish radio DJ and television presenter. During the chat, members will enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail and also have the opportunity to get their copy of ‘What I Ate in One Year’ signed by the esteemed actor.

After Stanley departs, celebrity chef Richard Corrigan will then introduce his four-course, wine-paired menu, featuring the very best English and Irish produce. A revered restaurant in the London restaurant scene, Corrigan’s Mayfair of JW Marriott Grosvenor House London was awarded London Restaurant Opening of the Year in its first year and three AA Rosettes within its first three months. It remains a coveted reservation to this day.

Experience includes:

  • Access for two (2) to the Marriott Bonvoy Moment event with Stanley Tucci at Corrigan’s Mayfair located at JW Marriott Grosvenor House London on Thursday, 24 April
  • Champagne reception upon arrival at Corrigan’s Mayfair
  • 45-minute moderated conversation with Stanley Tucci and Edith Bowman prior to dinner
  • Book signing with Stanley Tucci and one (1) signed copy of the book per person (2 books per package)
  • Four-course dinner with wine at Corrigan’s Mayfair with an introduction to the menu and anecdotes from Chef Richard Corrigan (please note each pair of Moments guests will be seated an their own table)

It should be a great night and I hope as many HfP readers as possible can get tickets.

If you don’t have a Marriott Bonvoy account, you can open one here. You can transfer 400 American Express Membership Rewards points across to get the one point you need (plus 599 to spare).

You could also buy 1,000 points here but I don’t think brand new accounts are able to purchase points.

Full details of the deal are here. Good luck!

FWIW, I got one just by hitting refresh when the countdown showed 2 seconds, clicking quickly (twice) and being lucky

  • Jordan D says:

    Site stability – far improved.

Site auto-updating – still utterly incompetent.

Had to refresh the page and they were “Sold Out” within 15-20 seconds it took. Very disappointing.

  • Fazzy Bear says:

The individual packages are already at 400k — surreal.

    • Rob says:

I am genuinely shocked at that. You’re looking at £2k of value there AT LEAST, and you can buy the meal any day of the week for a max of £500. That’s a big premium for meeting Stanley, who isn’t actually there for the meal.

      • C7Barma says:

Had I been able to redeem this package I would’ve actually skipped the pre-cocktails Stanley bit and arrived just for the dinner! So I agree the valuation makes no sense.

  • Matthew says:

I got to redeem, agreed to T&Cs then waited…..sold out!

  • Karl says:

As an aside, did anyone go to the recentish Marriott Moments for a Grammy’s performance in London?
Looked a bit steep at 10k for a one song set and no food/drink but wondered who it was as it seemed a NDA was required to attend.

    • Fazzy Bear says:

I keep an eye on most UK packages, and this seems to have passed me by. It’s not on the expired listings either for London.

    • R2 says:

I didn’t go – it was Tyla @ The Counting House, 50 Cornhill.

      • Rob says:

That’s about a minute from our office – they could have asked us 🙂

  • Broken Britain says:

At 5.01pm today in uk I was texted by Marriott to say there’s a 1 point drop coming. Complete muppets
